DIAGNOSIS AND MANAGEMENT

There is a 7 by 4 mm firm nodule in the topography of the flexor pollicis brevis. The patient has a total cholesterol level of 235 mg/dl and and LDL cholesterol level of 169 mg/dl.

The WBC, Hgb, sedimentation rate, and uric acid is normal. The nodule presented in the photograph is likely a xanthomatous nodule.
